Getting through a Long Flight

Air travel isn’t generally considered to be a pleasant experience. The on-board cuisine leaves plenty to be desired, and the movies are selected to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Whining children are almost always strategically seated directly behind you, and the man to your right has an annoying habit of hogging the armrest. To maximize your comfort on a long flight, you have to make do with what you have.

Start by cancelling out the inane conversations that surround you with some noise-reducing iPod earbuds. That way you can either rock out for the duration of the flight or soothe yourself to sleep with some relaxing chamber music. You might have to turn your iPod off during the plane’s descent, but at least then you’ll have some interesting scenery to observe.
